Bus Lines of Aegina Island
Although the island of Aegina is relatively small, its bus lines provide an essential public transportation service, allowing residents and visitors to easily access different parts of the island. Tickets can be purchased at the main bus station as well as on buses. This provides some flexibility to passengers, as they may decide to purchase their ticket at the last moment if they have not had the opportunity to do so in advance.
Bus timetables are available at the main bus station in Aegina Town. However, it is important to note that timetables are not posted at individual stops along the routes. Therefore, it is recommended to plan your trips in advance or to ask locals about passing times.
The three bus lines all depart from the main bus station opposite the port of Aegina Town and return to the same location. Each of these lines has a specific itinerary which may include stops in different villages, tourist attractions or beaches on the island.
Most destination names on bus signs are written in Greek. So, having some knowledge of English or Greek can be helpful in understanding where the bus is going and if it’s the right stop.
