Katerini is a town located in the Pieria district of the Central Macedonia region. KTEL Katerinis mainly serves the Pieria region, providing connections between Katerini and other towns and villages in the district, as well as intercity connections to other regions of Greece.

It was in the 1950s that the history of KTEL Piéria began with the creation of a company serving the public in the Piéria region. Over the decades, hundreds of thousands of kilometers have been traveled, allowing many generations to travel to numerous destinations both within the prefecture and within Greek territory.

Sixty years later, the KTEL Interurban of the Prefecture of Pieria continues to play a decisive social role for the movement of passengers, particularly for students.

Today, the intercity bus company KTEL Pieria is one of the largest and healthiest companies in the region, with 110 shareholders and an ultra-modern fleet of around sixty recent buses. This fleet is among the most modern in all of Greece, equipped with the latest air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems, the buses also have toilets.

For two years, KTEL Pieria has been under new management, mainly made up of dynamic young people, passionate about their work and attentive to the local market to better serve it. Despite the economic crisis the country is going through, the company has not increased its fares on the main lines (Thessaloniki, Athens) for nine years.
